Not only does Yoga help one stay flexible and strong, but it eases stress. Lack of Fitness can lead to many diseases and physical injury. Stress will also cause illness. There are many studies that have proven this fact.

Yoga will improve circulation which assists the body in removing “free radicals” from our body. Free radicals are the toxins in our body that cause illness and disease.

Performing yoga will increase your flexibility, is a good way to keep your spine aligned and stretches our muscles. It is also a great way to improve the range of motion in our joints.

There are different degrees of yoga. When beginning, start with basic, simple postures. Gradually work your way up to the more difficult poses. You do not have to be left with aching, sore muscle and joints to create a stronger, healthier you.

There are different studies of yoga. Hatha Yoga concentrates on breathing, movement, balance and relaxation. Iyengar Yoga works on body alignment and inner awareness. Bikram yoga is usually done in a hot environment, which promotes a sweat to aid in the removal of free radicals, and also aids in flexibility.

Adding some aerobic exercise will make your workout plan complete. Walking or riding a bike are great ways to get needed cardiovascular fitness. Both are easier on joints than jogging or playing sports. Consider purchasing a treadmill or recumbent bike for your home.

Many find either an ideal way to achieve fitness in private while in an environment that maintains a comfortable temperature. Home equipment also permits exercise even when poor weather outside prevents it.
